Operation Data can be imported directly from Operations Center in the View tool.

For info on linking your PCT account to Operations Center, see the links below:

Once the Operations Center link is made, operation data can be sent back and forth between Operations Center and PCT for processing, viewing, and analysis in both systems.

Follow the steps below to import operation data directly from Operations Center.

Steps:

1. In View, select a Grower, Farm, and Field(s) in the GFF tree on the left side of the screen.

-Note: Whatever Fields are in this selection will be the target for import. So, if you want to only import data for one field only select that field.

2. Select the 'Import Data' button in the Right-Click Menu.

3. Select the 'MyJD' tab.

4. Select the Season(s) for which you would like to import.

5. Select an Operations Center organization from the 'Select organization' dropdown.

-Note: if the organization isn't showing, make sure you have set the correct permissions in Operations Center in order to access organizations in PCT. See: https://pctagcloud-support.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/51000381816-set-org-access-and-data-permissions-between-pct-and-operations-center-.

6. Choose a date range to search for files.

7. Choose File type.

-Note: Type is the file format as it appears in Operations Center. DOC contains collected data and is most common for all recorded operations. DOC is a documentation file for Operations Center.

8. Select 'Get Files'. This will bring up a list of all files matching the search criteria that are on that Operations Center account.

9. After the files appear, you can filter further with the search bar next to "Name".

-Note: 'Auto Process' is turned on by default. This will automatically process data and create layers if the data area covers 95% or more of the boundary area. If a field does not have complete data, there will be a need to check, process, and surface the layers in the Data Editor tool. For more information on the Data Editor tool, see: https://pctagcloud-support.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/folders/51000428776.

10. Select the Files to Import by checking the box to the left of the file, or select all by checking the box in the upper left-hand corner.

-Note:  It is recommended to keep the total files size to less than 10MB at a time, a warning will pop up when you reach 10MB

You then have 3 options:

 1. Import

  • Imports and processes while you wait. You cannot close or reload this page until it is complete, which might take a while for larger files.
  • Once complete, clicking 'View Result' will show a report of which fields had a successful data import.
  • If there is an issue with the import, the 'View Result' report will have some information about the error. Record what this error says and contact your PCT rep to help.

 2. Import and Email results

  • This option does the upload and then sends the 'View Result' report to the email address you specify.
  • This option is better if you have a very large upload to process and don't want to wait. The import job gets queued and the email will notify you when the processing is complete.
  • You must wait until the note at the bottom says you can close the browser before you leave or reload.

 3. Download

  • This option downloads a .zip file with the raw John Deere files.
