The video and article below will show how to use the Test Strip Setup tool in View. This same application can be found in the Yield Analytics tool, the Multi-Rx tool, and Zone/Locate tool for adding Strip Trials directly into layers.
Strips saved in the Test Strip Setup tool will save as a Strip Trial Template layer. These layers can be used to create a standalone Rx layer, added into an exsisting Rx as a layer for intersection in the Single Product Rx tool, used in analysis under the Strip Trial Analytics tool, as well as added into zone layers in the Create Zones/Zone Locate tool.
Steps:
1. With the desired field selected in View, click the 'Toolbox' icon and select the 'Test Strip Setup' tab, or click the 'Create Strip Trial' button in the Right-Click Menu in View.
-Note: Layers can be loaded in the field as a reference for the trial(s). The opacity of the layers can be adjusted.
2. Click the 'Add new test strips' button.
3. Name the trial and select a Type and Season.
4. Click and drag the center of the test strips to move their position.
5. Trials can be based on AB lines. AB lines can be imported from a file or from Operations Center™. Trials can be moved independently of the AB lines or snapped to the side or center of the AB lines.
-Note: AB lines must have widths in order to operate within the Strip Trial tool.
6. If you would like to add a Field Buffer, enter the size of the buffer. If the field boundary has passable obstacles they can be clipped by checking the 'clip passable obstacles' box. To exclude an area of the field from having a buffer, click the 'Draw exclude' box and draw a polygon around the desired area.
7. Multiple Strip Patterns can be added to one Strip Trial Template layer. To add a brand new Strip Pattern, click the add button, and to add a clone of the original Strip Pattern, click the clone button. The Strip Patterns can be adjusted individually below.
8. If AB lines are used, you can change the snap and alignment settings for each Strip Pattern.
9. The Alignment angle, Pass/Swath width, and Strip length can all be adjusted. When using AB lines, the Alignment angle and Pass/Swath width will be adjusted automatically. Both can be edited manually. To return to the AB setting, click the AB angle or AB width button.
10. Treatments and Replicates can be adjusted, and passes can be added between both.
11. It is required to name each Treatment. This must be done for each Strip Pattern.
12. Click 'Save test strips' or 'Save and clear test strips' to save as a Strip Trial Template layer.
