Once formulas have been set up and saved in Add/Edit Formulas you can run the formulas in Formula Rx by selecting desired fields and formulas.
The Formula Rx tool can be accessed from the Right-Click Menu in View.
Below are explanations for the settings and dropdowns within the Formula Rx tool.
Settings:
Resample cell size - Allows you to change the pixel size used to create the Rx. Either meters (left line) or feet (right line) can be entered. Typically the default of 20m is used for grid sampling. If you are using zone sampling, you may want to set this to 2m because that is the resolution in which layers are stored in PCT. You can also choose to set the resolution to the width of the equipment used in the application of the Rx.
Appy Cell size to shapefile only - When checked, the layer will be saved with the default cell size, but the shapefile will be saved with the entered resample cell size.
Target Activity Date - Desired activity/application date.
Formula Group - Selects a Formula Group. Formula Groups are set up in Add/Edit Formulas.
Products - When selected, you'll be taken to products to be used with Soil Rec Layers.
Edit Formulas - Takes you to the Add/Edit Formulas page.
Select Formula(s):
Product - Set up in Add/Edit Formulas. If no product is listed for the formula, a product can be assigned to the Nutrient Rec layer created at the end.
Formula Name - Denotes the specific formula. Set up in Add/Edit Formulas.
Season - Allows you to select the desired soil sample layer by selecting the season it is saved under.
Depth - If depth is saved with soil sampling data, you can select the depth. If multiple depths are selected, a weighted average will be calculated.
Units - Units the resulting layer will be saved in.
-Note: Any values entered in the Formula Rx tool need to be in the correct units of the selected formula.
Min - Any calculated value below the entered number will be rounded up to that number.
-Note: Switch Rates can be entered in the Min column by inserting a comma between the two values (ex. 0,50).
Max - Any calculated value above the entered number will be rounded down to that number.
Split - Will split the calculated result into multiple applications based on the % separated by commas entered in the Max Column. When entering a split, the values must equal 100% (ex. 25,25,50).
Available Product - Enter the amount of total product available to be spread over field/fields so the resulting variable rate maps totals equal the available product.
Set Average Rate - This allows you to set a desired average rate per variable rate Rx.
Cost - Price per unit of product.
Flat Credit - Will subtract the entered value from the Rx.
Credit Layer - Will subtract the layer selected from the Rx.
User Variable - Set up in Add/Edit Formulas. Typically used for variables such as product conversions or crop removal values.
Field Selection:
-Note: Fields boundaries must be selected in View for them to show up in Formula Rx.
Name - Field name.
Crop - Select the crop; one or two can be selected. Will default to the first and second crops listed in the expression.
Type -
- Flat - Enter a flat yield goal in the grey box to the right.
- Mean - Will use a flat mean from the yield layer(s) selected in the 'Season' dropdown. If multiple are selected they will be averaged.
- Grid - Will use the actual yield layer(s) selected from the 'Season' dropdown. If multiple are selected they will be averaged.
Create Rx - Once all parameters have been entered, click 'Create Rx' to see a quick breakdown of the Rx and the layers used to create it. If the selected Rx is set up with a product, then you are done and can save shapefiles and reports and send the Rx's to MyJD.
If the Rx has no product and is creating a Soil Nutrient Rec, click the 'Select Layers and switch to product' button. This will take you to the same place as clicking the 'Products' slider described above.
Products - Here we can convert Soil Nutrient Recs and Nutrient Crop Removal layers to actual products.
