ChatGPT can be used to fix, convert, and create formulas for use in PCT Agcloud. Some instructions and helpful tips on using ChatGPT for formula help are contained within the video and article below.
-Note: Due to the nature of ChatGPT and AI in general, the capabilities mentioned in this article will only continue to improve. Initial use of ChatGPT to complete a desired task may be slow at first use, but will improve as more info, data, feedback, etc., is provided.
Fix Formulas
One of the best uses of ChatGPT is correcting flawed formulas. Rather than searching through lines of code for parentheses and commas, the formula can simply be pasted into ChatGPT to check for errors. Give a prompt to fix the pasted formula, and ChatGPT will return an explanation of the errors and a fixed version. The fixed formula will also be given a neatly ordered structure that is easy to read. Even if you have formulas that are operating correctly, they can still be entered into ChatGPT to make them more readable or condense/remove any redundancies.
Convert Formulas
ChatGPT can be used to convert existing formulas, commonly from spreadsheets. Paste the spreadsheet into the chat and give a detailed prompt for what you want the output to be. Specify any particular formulas or tabs that are needed. At the time of this article, there are some limitations when it comes to the complexity of the formulas that are able to be converted; however, these limitations are getting progressively less as ChatGPT becomes more familiar with the process. Some back and forth is usually required to reach the desired result, but this is part of the process of helping ChatGPT improve.
Creating Formulas
ChatGPT can be used to create new formulas. This is an area that we here at PCT have not explored very deeply; however, the capability is there. As always, the more detailed the prompt, the better, and any examples or supporting materials are helpful to provide as well.
